Movie Review:

The Curious Case of Benjamin Button

Rating: Active Eruption

I must admit I had my doubts when I saw the previews to this movie. I'm not a great fan of fantasy, but somehow this movie was about a lot more than just a man who happens to age backwards. It's a great love story on many levels (parent/child, lovers, friends, mentors) as well as an intriguing journey as Benjamin grows younger through history: WW2, the 50s and 60s. The setting is New Orleans, and the film is narrated via Daisy's diary about Benjamin, as read to Daisy on her deathbed by her daughter. Daisy was Benjamin's childhood sweetheart, and as he gets younger and Daisy ages, they part and reconnect several times. Marvelous acting, great story lines, and you'll be enchanted by the journey. The best movie of the season so far, and I'm hopeful for some Oscar nods.
