This movie is everything the ads promised: sweeping epic, gorgeous cinematography, hunky leading man, interesting plot, historical and cultural issues. Oh, and Nicole K. Most of the reviews were not exactly favorable, but I was pleasantly surprised. There were at least 3 sub-plots that held my interest (the romance, the aborigine boy, the cutthroat cattle business in the 1940s). It had humor. It had a strong woman character who could hold her own with the men (go, girl!) It is a long flick at 2 hours, 35 minutes, but definitely worthwhile.
